Since I started my work life in 1990 with the studies of technical IT matters, I took over more and more roles and responsibilities in (IT) projects, especially ERP implementations and upgrades, business process management and digital transformations. In all these projects, I had an internal role, giving company or lead from start to delivery, evaluating with the team, implement and support what we done. This gives board view on the life cycle for these projects.

Since 2018, I am holding in parallel lectures about ERP, Business Process Management, IT Systems, Digital Transformation and Change management on the DHBW (Corporate State University).

Now after 33 years of IT work I took the chance to look back collect some thoughts about projects, especially on larger ones like ERP or business changing ones. 99 thoughts that you may read in 66 min. Some sound obvious, but maybe thinking about them opens you a new point of view, others are maybe new to you and on some you have a different point of view.

Sorry, this is not a "how to do things" book, nor it will help you solve your problems directly.
However, reading it will create your awareness on common issues and topics, which you then can look up in one of those "how to" “XYZ in a nutshell” “XYZ step by step” books on different plat forms or websites.

Like for 42, if you do not know the question, who can you expect an useful answer? Guess some of my thoughts will help you to better clarify your question, then finding your right answer will be easier.

Cheers
Pirmin
